Hi, friends! This is my last post for the next few weeks. As I mentioned earlier this month, the hubs and I are celebrating our one-year anniversary with a trip to Southeast Asia. We’ll be there a full 14 days, and I’m so excited about our itinerary.
We’re starting off in Bali for a few days, where we’ll tour the island, check out some temples, see the rice paddies and relax. Then we’re flying to Singapore for a day. The husband has a few close friends who grew up there as ex-pats, and it always sounded like a cool place to visit. It’s also a convenient stop to help break up the flight to our next destination, which is Phuket, Thailand.
Originally, we planned to visit Phuket for our honeymoon last year, but decided that if we visited Asia, we wanted to do it right and spend a few weeks there. So we’re finally getting our chance – and the best part is that we’ll be in Phuket on our one-year anniversary! We’re super pumped to see all the amazing beaches Thailand has to offer.
From there, we’re traveling to Hong Kong. After realizing it was a fairly short flight to China, we figured since we were in the area, we HAD to add it to the itinerary. I can’t wait to see the hustle and bustle of the city. And I especially can’t wait to go shopping for all the amazing Asian cosmetics and skincare you can’t find in the U.S.!
After two days in Hong Kong, we’re off to Shanghai for a taste of “real” China. One of my husband’s college friends lives there, so we’ll get a taste of what local life is like. And with more than 14 million people living there, it definitely wins the prize for largest city I’ve ever visited.
This is definitely the trip of a lifetime – albeit a very busy one! With so many stops on our agenda, it will be a whirlwind, and we’re doing our best to pack in everything we can at each location. We’ll undoubtedly need a vacation from our vacation.
